Introducing the STERNGLAS Merion, a vibrant and fresh addition to our automatic dive watch design collection. This elegant yet sporty timepiece combines the toughness of a 60s compressor diver with a unique design that even fish will envy.

Engineered for plunging into the water

The Merion is our first watch with a fully integrated metal bracelet. Thanks to a removable pin system, the band can be shortened without any tools. Yes, you read that right. This watch fits every wrist. The safety clasp offers three adjustment points for fine-tuning. Depending on the occasion, you can swap the metal bracelet for a sporty rubber strap.

Perfect fit: Innovative sizing system

With 20 ATM of water resistance, dual screw-down crowns, and a waterproof screw-down case back, the Merion is ready for any water activity, be it a plunge into the sea, lake, or pool. When the depths call, this watch remains watertight – and so does its movement.

To fine-tune the Merion, it boasts two crowns: at 2 o'clock, the bezel rotates both ways with a satisfying 120-click mechanism. At 4 o'clock, you can set the time and date – precisely thanks to the hacking function.

The color markings when open indicate that the user must screw the crowns back on to make the Merion watertight again.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

Built for the Elements

The shimmering dial, available in Algae Green or Deep Sea Black, features a textured surface and a gradient from light to dark, symbolizing the play of light when diving. Every glance at the Merion evokes the ocean floor and ignites the urge for the next aquatic adventure.

Luminova on the dial, hands, and bezel ensures perfect legibility in any light condition.

The Merion is for high-flyers who live life to the fullest. This is symbolized by the engraving of two flying fish on the screwed-down case back. These fish defy limits, soaring majestically above the water and bending the laws of physics.

Encased in polished and brushed 316L stainless steel, the Merion stands up to swimming and diving. The double-domed and anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial from scratches, preserving the watch's beauty. With a 41mm diameter, this robust tool watch is not only comfortable to wear but also makes a statement on the wrist – and it feels bigger than you'd expect.

The engine on your wrist: the Seiko TMI NH35

The NH35 is a bidirectional automatic caliber featuring Seiko’s patented Magic Lever System, which simplifies and enhances the efficiency of the winding mechanism. This system reduces winding time and extends the power reserve with fewer components.

The rotor generates energy in both directions, so the watch starts with minimal movement. The shock-resistant Diashock system protects the mechanism from impacts and is Seiko’s version of the Incabloc system. Additionally, the hacking seconds function, activated by pulling the crown, allows for precise time setting.

With up to 41 hours of power reserve and a date function, the mechanical NH35 movement is a reliable companion for everyday use.

Integrated metal bracelet and highly elastic rubber strap

The Merion is our first watch with a fully integrated metal bracelet. Thanks to a removable pin system, the band can be shortened without any tools. Yes, you read that right. This watch fits every wrist. The safety clasp offers three adjustment points for fine-tuning.

Depending on the occasion, you can swap the metal bracelet for a sporty rubber strap. This is also included in the package.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

What exactly does waterproof to 20 atm mean?

The specification 1 bar usually corresponds to 1 atm or 10 m test pressure. At 20 bar, a water column of 200 metres is assumed.

The specification therefore does not refer to a real diving depth, but to the test pressure under laboratory conditions.

With a water density of 20 bar, the Marus is suitable for snorkelling, swimming and scuba diving.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

Is the bezel rotatable?

Yes, you can rotate the internal bezel in both directions using the crown at 2 o'clock.

By adjusting the zero mark (the triangle at 12 o'clock), divers can precisely measure the duration of their dive.
