For Modern Explorers: The Hamburg Edition Marine

Full speed ahead: After Argo, Bronze, Bauhaus, and Hafen, we're proud to introduce a strictly limited edition for modern explorers: The Hamburg Edition Marine is our newest companion in the STERNGLAS lineup, limited to just 999 pieces. This refined timepiece expands our popular Hamburg collection and, for the first time, shines in luxurious gold tones.

The exclusive design is inspired by the elegant uniform of a naval officer. This influence is clear in the combination of deep ocean blue and gold embellishments, creating a striking contrast that catches the eye immediately.

The result is a sophisticated statement piece that grabs attention on any occasion. It's a versatile companion that fits seamlessly into both formal and casual settings.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

Stylish Companion

The deep blue dial, paired with gold and orange hands, provides impressive depth. The double-domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects against unsightly scratches, preserving the maritime elegance of this coveted collector's item. Plus, it's water-resistant up to 5 ATM.

The robust case, made from 316L stainless steel with a colorfast PVD gold coating, gives the Hamburg Edition Marine its luxurious appearance. With a diameter of 42 mm and a case height of just 6 mm, the watch boasts a sleek and comfortable design.

The Hamburg Edition Marine embodies stylish elegance in an extraordinary timepiece. Perfect for those who, deep down, are true sea dogs – or naval officers. But beware: only 999 of this special edition are available. Act fast, it’s worth it.

Traditional Navigation

What GPS does for us today was accomplished in the past with a groundbreaking invention for maritime navigation – and a bit of mathematics.

The sextant was an indispensable instrument for merchants and captains and is still used today by sailors and astronomers alongside modern technology.

What’s special about the sextant? It allows you to precisely measure the angle between two objects without electricity. For instance, between the sun or a star and a fixed point on land or the horizon.

That’s why you’ll find this symbol of traditional navigation and a spirit of adventure engraved in detail on the case back of the Hamburg Edition Marine.

What our customers say about us

Why we make Bauhaus watches?

In your search for a classic and durable watch, you are faced with 2 alternatives today:

1. you can buy a watch from a luxury manufacturer for a very high price, or
2. a watch from a trendy brand whose quality is as short-lived as the trend that made the brand popular.

Moin! I'm Dustin Fontaine, Founder of STERNGLAS...

When I worked in a watch manufactory during my school days and was looking for a watch for myself, I realised that there would have to be a 3rd alternative.

3. Since 2016, we have been breaking new ground and developing timeless Bauhaus-style watches that will outlive trends and continue to give pleasure for many years to come. And all that at a fair price.

In the meantime, over 53,000 watch lovers are convinced of our mission and our watch design has received several awards.

Swiss precision work at hand

No country in the world stands for watchmaking tradition as much as Switzerland. Watch movements have been screwed together in Switzerland since the Middle Ages.

The Swiss family-owned company Ronda shares our high standards of quality and manufactures high-precision movements for us that will last for years.

The reliable Ronda 715 quartz calibre works behind the screwed steel back.

Which strap will you choose?

Vintage leather, SuperSlim metal bracelet, or suede?

Despite their differences, our bracelets share one thing in common: they all offer maximum comfort. Thanks to the quick-change system, they can be swapped out effortlessly.

External influences cause our leather bands to mature over time, creating a unique vintage look. Crafted with great care by our German partner leather manufacturer.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.
